Linux Router (COOL!)

Hi again. I have installed Red Hat 6 (I tried to install Red Hat 7.1 and 7, but I didn't have enough dis space.) it is a Packard Bell (I know it is a bad choice but it works) with a Pentium 100Mhz with 48MB of RAM. I love it. It is a router and a print and file server for my other machines (they are Windows boxes, yuk. Except for my laptop, it is a dual boot machine.). I have a dial-up connection (which I share with my Linux Box Router), but I am looking in to possibly getting DSL from my local telco, but I don't know if they provide to my area.

I don't like the way that my telco does there DSL stuff. It is $49.99 (US dollars) just for the standard DHCP assigned IP service, and it is an extra $20 for a Static IP, and if I want to use one of their routers to share the connection with my other computers it is an extra $20 plus the cost of the router. Well... I decided that I didn't like that, so I set my Linux box up as a router (by hand) with IP masquerading (cool huh?). This allows me to share the connection without having to pay the extra $20 and router cost (which means I have to use one of the private IP ranges, I use 10.x.x.x). With a minimum of client computer setup (all the required info is DNS servers and the Gateway is set to the private IP of the Linux Router).

Update...
I have gotten my ftp port forwarding up and running (I am kind of new to the whole loadable modules deal). I also turned on the Real Audio masq stuff.

-=-=-I have also added a link to the IPMASQ web page. This site is one of the resources that I used to help me get my router up and running to my specs.

I will be adding all the details of the setup and various other setup options for your system and your best Bud.
